Mayweather vs Cotto fight will be held on MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Less than three weeks now before we witness another classic boxing match between Floyd Mayweather vs Miguel Cotto. It will be a good fight, I’m glad it finally happened. Everybody has its own predictions of the upcoming fight. So what Cotto’s chances vs Mayweather? Can Cotto pull and upset versus Mayweather or Mayweather will retain his undefeated records? The Mayweather vs Cotto fight is at 154 lb’s, Floyd Mayweather is coming up from 147 lb’s to fight at 154. This alone (fighting at 154) is good for Miguel Cotto… because the last guy to give Mayweather a decent run was de la hoya, and that fight was at 154 lb’s. Mayweather has only fought once before at 154. During interview with Max Kellerman, Maywather said that Cotto has no chance on beating him.
Mentally Cotto is just as tough as Floyd Mayweather. Mayweather’s undefeated record doesn’t scare Cotto… because Cotto has beaten mausua, kelson pinto, ricardo torres, malignaggi and yuri foreman ( all these guys first loss came from cotto and malignaggi was the only one who could go the distance out of the 5 fighters). This is Mayweather’s toughest fight in a long time, why is it, all of a sudden people are counting out Cotto… give the guy a chance. And Cotto is also 3 years younger than Mayweather.
I dont consider Cotto a damaged goods. I think the fight will go 12 rounds, there will be no knockouts, Floyds punching power is overrated ever since he moved up in wieght and he will not be able to knockout Cotto, and Cotto will not catch him either. Cotto will start of strong pushing Floyd Mayweather back. But Cotto will gas out after the 6th round like he usually does. Floyd Mayweather will take advantage and win the fight from there. Cotto has a punchers chance, but he has never faced a guy like Mayweather. Cotto just couldn’t handle his speed. Cotto can’t out box him but if he opens up too much then it will be a counter fest for Mayweather. So I don’t think he can square off against Mayweather. I think the Miguel Cotto before the Margarito beating had better chances.
Well, anything can happen but unless Mayweather shows up old on fight night, his chances will be lower than they were with Pacquiao. Pacquiao came forward so it was easier to hit him. Pacquiao makes so many mistakes. Mayweather on the other hand, whether he comes forward or moves around, he is hard to hit.
I’m a Mayweather fan. I have nothing but respect for Cotto, he’s a great champion and a serious threat at 154 lbs. Cotto would of had a good chance of beating Pacquio if the fight was at 154, but we know Arum would never put Pacquio in a fight that risky, so the fight was at 147 where Cotto was out of his element, and not much of a threat. But Mayweather stepped up, and agreed to fight Cotto at 154, where hes basically a whole new fighter. But at the end of the day, fighters like Mayweather come around once a lifeitme, and I don’t see Cotto beating him, and I dont see anyone beating Mayweather at this point, He’s proved him self over and over, and he’s simply, the best, by a far margin.
